Bethwyn's
A place to chill out and appreciate music


Bethwyn's is a small store that sells records (CD's) that can be played in CD players or personal music players. These can be purchased at the store for G. CDs are sold for 20G each (but aren't deducted from your RPG money) however CD Players (stereo) and Personal Music Players ('Perio's) cost 100G and 200G respectively and this cost will be deducted from your RP money.

CDs are found to the left of the store in alphabetical order. There are four categories: classical, rock, country, alternative. The alternative section is quite general and contains any CDs that do not fit into the other three categories. Feel free to browse or order in anything you can't find.

Facing the door is a lounge section of the store. There are four sofas (two mint green and two light pink) arranged facing each other in a circle/square shape. In the middle of the sofas there is a large table with some magazines that feature music articles. Behind the sofa square there are three coffee tables that are round and have three chairs around each.

To the right of the door is a small glass counter - inside containing display models of the stereos and the Perios. You can make a booking for a sofa or table if you must but usually it's a casual free for all first come first serve. At the counter you can order drinks (soft drinks various, hot drinks various) and also snack foods (small bags of chips assorted, chocolate bars assorted, lollipops, ice-creams assorted) for a small price (non-deductable), as well as pay for CDs or Music Players. Also place orders for CDs at the counter.


When you walk into the store the lighting is dim - the walls are painted a rich chocolate brown and this adds to the general ambiance. The place isn't musty or dirty - in fact it smells faintly of lemon and coffee. The lights hang from the ceiling to cast a yellowish glow on everything and are far spaced. The store has a cosy feel to it and people are welcome to hang out. It is open at odd hours as Bethwyn lives upstairs but if she is home or awake she will be in the store front. There is a stereo with speakers hooked up all around the store and chill out music plays. It is soothing and non-descript. This irritates some people as it reminds them of lift music. However, this music is not lift music - it is ambiance music.


Currently Bethwyn isn't high enough rank to employ people so please if you ask for a job know that you will be rejected.

Moving in for Byron had went quite nicely and after being out of town for a good while he had finally settled down in Peridot. However as he did not like being home all day he decided that it was time to take a tour around town and the Marketplace in particular.

The first place he ran into seemed to be called Bethwyn's. Looking through the window it seemed to be a Music Store so he decided to go in. At a quick glance the store seemed to contain more than just CD's but he could check out that later. He went through the different rows of CD's until he came to the Rock Section and started to individually browse the disk alphabetically.

Deciding to take a walk around town, Luc happened upon what appeared to be a new store of some sort. Walking inside, it seemed to be a bit of a music store, yet also offered a place to sit, as well as a place to purchase snacks. Luc nodded as he looked around. He liked the feel of the place a lot, though he had no real desire to purchase any music today. Walking over to one of the sofas, Luc sat down. He picked up a magazine from the coffee table and began to read a bit.

While reading the magazine, Luc heard someone approach him. Looking up, Luc saw a young lady come up to him ask if he needed anything. An employee perhaps? Possibly the owner, but she looked quite young to be owning a store. "Actually, now that you mention it, I could sure use a pillow." Luc grinned at the girl, eager to see her reaction.

To Luc's surprise and somewhat horror, the girl didn't seemed phased at all by his odd request. In fact, she commended him on such a great idea and promised to have pillows the next time that he came in. Course now he couldn't think of a witty response, so he decided to start up a conversation instead, dull as it may be. "So by your reaction, I assume that you are the owner of this store? Or are you a shop-a-holic employee that will use any excuse to buy things?"

"Owner of a record store then? Quite a feat for someone your age." After the girl sat down, Luc was able to get a better look at her. Why in the world did she look so familiar to him? Thinking back a bit, Luc tried to remember who all he had met in this village so far. There was the bubbly Felicity, the sweet Fania, the quiet Shay...but who else? Was it someone at the Inn? When the girl laughed, her face lit up. It was then that something popped into Luc's mind. "Wait a minute..." Luc's eyes grew big a moment. Standing up, Luc the pointed at the young lady. "Now I remember! You're that dancing girl from the inn, aren't you? I never did catch your name, but I know it's you." Snapping his fingers, Luc nodded just then. "I knew you looked familiar."

The girl blushed heavily, once Luc reminded her how they had first met. Laughing, Luc sat back down with a thump onto the sofa. "I can't believe its you. I haven't seen you since that day we first met." Leaning forward to get close to the girl, Luc smiled just then. "Ok you gotta end the suspense now, before I go nuts. What's your name?"

"Ah so like the name of the store then. Figured you named it after your cat or something." Shrugging, Luc sat back once more. "Bethwyn..hmm. Why do I have a feeling I'm going to forget that?" Shaking his head, Luc then wondered the same thing Bethwyn did. "Not sure why we haven't ran into each other since that day to be honest. But it appears that we've both been busy. What have you been up to, besides working on this store? Meet any other people? Listen to any good music? Learn any new dances?" Luc winked at Bethwyn, after he asked the last question.
