Dang it sure was a long way to town and back. As Irbe rushed up towards Colette's home, he looked back to see how far behind Doctor Gordon was.
The man had stopped, eyeing some mud upon his lab coat. "Wonderful." He muttered to himself, as he rushed a bit to catch up to Irbe. Within his hands he carried his medical bag, hopeful that he had everything he would need to treat this man Irbe had told him about. Behind the doctor, squealed Nurse Jenny, as she tried to avoid puddle after muddy puddle.
As the three walked onto the porch, Irbe eyed the very muddy Goldie tied to the porch. How in the world did that happen? Opening the front door, the three wandered inside. Oh! The lights were back on. That's good at least. The floor though. What a mess. Glancing around the room, Irbe's eyes locked upon Colette who appeared to be getting ready to mop. But where was that man? Looking to his left, Irbe saw the injured mad sitting at the kitchen table. Looks like he had managed to clean himself up a bit, but he looked rather pale. "It's that man over there, Doctor Gordon."
As the doctor and nurse Jenny entered into the small house, the man glanced at the girl near the kitchen sink, before looking over the injured man. His head was bandaged, the blood clearly seeping through. His arm though. Irbe had mentioned a rather deep gasp upon the man's arm. But why was that bandaged as well? Wonderful. More work for Gordon to fix apparently. Walking up to the man, the doctor set his medical bag upon the table, as he looked his patient up and down. "So do you want me to treat you or not? You don't look that bad off. Somewhat pale. But it appears you have gone and treated your wounds yourself, haven't you? I would hate to think that I came all the way out here for nothing." Staying quiet for the moment, Nurse Jenny waddled up behind the doctor and smiled politely at the injured man.
While Gordon dealt with the stranger, Irbe walked over to Colette. "Do you need any help?" He questioned as he pointed at the bucket of water. "That guy didn't give you a lot of trouble, did he? I tried to be as fast as I could. Sorry that I took so long." Something wasn't right. Why did Colette's face look like she had been...crying? Naw, Colette was a tough girl, wasn't she? She wasn't the type to cry. Then again, it's not like Irbe knew that much about the girl. Maybe she was just a bundle of nerves when left alone.

You want to work for- for nothing?
"
Don't be a smartass, don't be a smartass...
Jareth cleared his throat, "I just...sort of." He glanced down at the puppy, this would be amusing if he wasn't in such a crappy state of being, "I can't totally pay for the damages and you wont take my money, let me work off my debt, and as soon as I work it off, I'll be gone." Jareth brushed a few strands of wet hair from his face just as the woman went inside and shut the door. This actually threw Jareth off, mainly because the woman just left her dog out here with a stranger. Speaking which he felt a momentary tug on his jacket sleeve as the pup just barely clipped it. He frowned, looking down at the pup, "Hell, you sure are determined." Jareth pulled his sleeve down over his hand, wiggling the extra, loose material over the pup's head just out of it's reach. This seemed to excite the dog even more, who spasmatically began to jump for the sleeve.
The woman returned not shortly after, quickly leashing the dog and tying it to the porch. He was a bit relieved she had returned outside, he had thought she was just going to leave him outside with her puppy. He was sure it would have been
loads
of fun...
Not long after the woman made her way towards him again, holding out her hand to him, which she quickly switched, most likely do to his injured arm. She introduced herself, waiting for Jareth to do the same. He cleared his throat, firmly grabbing a hold of her hand and giving her a quick shake before letting go, "Jareth Ridelia." She had an awfully pretty name, sounded...
flowery
, not sure if it was appropriate for her from what he had seen from her character earlier. Best not say that aloud. Before he could even say anything else, Colette grabbed him by the shirt, pulling him down level to her causing his heart to nearly shoot out of his chest.
"
And if this place goes under because of you, I will hide your body in a place they will NEVER find, GOT ME?
"
He furrowed his brow at her threat, so far, he was sure that she'd live up to her word. This he didn't doubt, "Loud and clear..." He mumbled, sighing heavily as she let him go and beckoned him inside. Jareth took a moment to breath deeply and steady his heart before he moved into the house, eying the pup as she tried to get a bite at him but was just out of reach. He cocked a brow at it, "Don't worry, you have plenty of time to attack me now." He patted at his pockets, wondering if he had something he could give the pup to chew on, digging his left hand into his coat pocket, he found a small, round, plastic object. He pulled it out, it looked like a lid of some kind, he shrugged, tossing it down to the pup who promptly began to attack the lid. It was probably useless anyway.
Before heading inside he pulled his jacket off, looking it over and grimacing, not sure if he'd be able to save it. With a sigh, he bent down and tried to wipe off as much mud from his boots as he could before tossing the coat onto the porch fence away from the pup, making his way inside. Colette told him to take a seat, Jareth looked around for the towel he had used earlier. He snatched it off the floor, it was still rather damp. He rolled it up, hiding away the bloodied section so he could at least dry his face off. Jareth made his way to the kitchen table, pulling off a cushion from the chair and throwing it onto the one next to it. He remained silent, not sure what to say, especially since most of it would turn to awkward conversation which he tended to avoid like the plague. Eying the kitchen, he had to admire the home, despite all the mud and water they had mucked in, it was actually rather nice in here. Quaint.
After several minutes the front door opened causing Jareth to shoot his attention that way, he saw a man enter, he looked familiar, it was probably the guy from earlier. In his tow were two others, he assumed the doctor and probably his nurse. He grimaced, remembering how much he disliked doctors...
The doctor came up to Jareth, dropping his bag on the table that he stared at before the doctor spoke up.
"
So do you want me to treat you or not? You don't look that bad off. Somewhat pale. But it appears you have gone and treated your wounds yourself, haven't you? I would hate to think that I came all the way out here for nothing.
"
A nerve twitched in his face and he shot a glare up to the doctor, why was it every medical person he met acted like helping people was a chore? Jareth quickly looked to his arm, "Oh, I
apologize
, forgive me for getting myself into an accident and having you come down here to do your
job
." Jareth rubbed his eyes with his left hand, obviously irritated, shame, he was starting to feel better, "Pretend to care at least," he sighed, "Just give me your bag, I'll do your job for you, no way I want some smug prick jabbing something sharp into my skin." Not feeling as bad as he did before, he was confident he could do the job better anyway, doctors, they <bleep> about how people look down on them and were severely underpaid but they brought it on themselves. No way would Jareth be paying this doctor.
He turned his attention to Colette as he grabbed the doctor's bag, he heard him make a noise in protest but Jareth ignored him, unsnapping the top, "Excuse me...uh, Miss LaRocque?" He looked into the bag and began riffling through the contents, "Could I trouble you for a candle, a bowl and some whiskey, if you have any?" Jareth found a small plastic container that contained several needles of varying length, he pulled it out and set it on the table and returned to rummaging. It had been some time since he had done DIY stitches...he found a pair of scissors, some rubbing alcohol and a spool of thread, it was hard to tell but it looked like it might be made of silk or nylon. This was good, he glanced up at the doctor who looked absolutely livid which caused a smirk to rise in the corner of his lip. He'd still need to disinfect this thread, he wasn't going to take a chance and assume this doctor was clean. Jareth organized the items he pulled out before going back into the bag for more, looking for gauze, tape and non-adhesive bandages as he waited, hoping Colette would quickly nab those items for him.

Well, Jareth was suddenly more accommodating. Maybe it was the punch, or the fresh air, or more than likely it was his concussion getting to him. Either way this was much better. Colette shook his hand a little bit tighter than she should have all things considered, but that was probably because she hadn't
entirely
forgiven him just yet. In fact, this was something he might as well expect until the day he left town. Colette wasn't actually the type to hold grudges, but this wasn't a grudge. This was a vendetta. It wasn't going to end well.
When he repeated his name she just let it slide, figuring he was so out of it earlier he didn't remember telling her. At the moment Colette didn't feel like arguing for the sake of arguing, otherwise she would have brought it up in the most offensive way possible. Right now she was more concerned with the muddy floor and blood stains on her wall. If the girl didn't hurry up the blood would dry and the mud would cake, causing the mess to take even longer to clean up. Grabbing the mop Colette practically ignored her new found employee, too busy focusing on the current disaster at hand. Even when he sat down at the table directly next to her, she overlooked his presence, dunking the mop in the bucket of water, beginning what was bound to be a long and strenuous chore.
It was only when a flood of faces, old and new, joined them in her house that Colette bothered to look up from her chore. She forced a smile and beckoned them in all the while mopping the back part of the kitchen. While Irbe pointed out Jareth to the Doctor, a wave of relief flooded over her. It was almost over. Thank
God
this was almost over. Just a few more minutes of what she was
sure
would be a peaceful encounter, and she could just be done with this awful endeavor. Wiping the sweat off her brow, the woman paused when Irbe made her way over to her, asking if she needed any help. It was nice to see a familiar face she didn't want to murder. "Well, my house is a mess and that guy was a royal pain in the ass," She didn't even bother to try to lower her voice. They both hated each other, there was no reason to hide it. "But I think we got everything..sorted out." Leaning on her mop, the girl glanced back to the redhead before starting her work once again. "I have an extra mop," She looked over to Irbe with a wry smile. "Not as good as this one, but if you don't want to just stand around I could put you to work."
Just then her ears picked up the Doctor's..complaining. Raising a brow Colette looked at the man before glancing back to Irbe skeptically. Was this man a professional or not? Sure it was inconvenient, but wasn't this his job? "You didn't come all the way up here for nothing." She interjected without thinking. Her voice while cautious had a hint of bitterness chalked to it. She did NOT spend the last hour with this man alone just so the doctor could blow off his injuries. "I bandaged his head to stop the bleeding, but I was afraid of touching his arm." Explaining the situation seemed to be the best idea at the moment, at least it stopped her from being rude. "It looked pretty deep, is all." Now she felt rather useless, the Nurse walking behind the doctor and giving Jareth a reassuring smile.
Jareth, on the other hand, didn't seem to need small talk or pretenses. She really shouldn't have been surprised by his attitude, she was a little annoyed by the Doctor's snarky behavior herself. Yet the injured man who had lost plenty of blood apparently wasn't in the mood for jokes. Snapping at the doctor he snatched the bag from him, insisting he'd do the job himself. Damn. Exchanging glances with Irbe and the nurse, Colette was caught off guard yet again when Jareth asked her for a list of ingredients. That wasn't the part that shocked her though, he asked for them
politely
. That was just…weird. Nice change of pace, but still weird.
Stalling for a moment Colette eventually decided to give him what he asked for. It wasn't too difficult actually, her liquor cabinet and cupboard were right next to each other in her small kitchen. "Irbe, could you grab a candle?" She had yet to blow any of them out yet, seeing how she was busy with other things. Setting the bowl and an unopened bottle of whiskey on the table between Jareth and the doctor, she refused to let go before saying her piece. "I don't think this is a good idea." She looked at the determined young man, before back at the doctor. "You've only got one good hand! You've lost a ton of blood, and face it," She wasn't giving up those items easily, "You probably got a concussion." When she put it like that, Colette actually sounded reasonable for once. "Come on, just let the guy do his job."

Alright, this guy was getting on Gordon's nerves. First he comes all the way out here for some train wreck of a person and now the guy was giving him attitude? When the girl in the house said something about letting the doctor just do his job, Gordon raised his hand slightly. "No no. If he thinks he can do it himself, let him. I don't really like you using my things though. If you break anything, I'll just add it to your bill." Pulling out another chair, the doctor sat down and waited, eager to see just what this guy thought he could really do by himself. Nurse Jenny had wandered into the nearby bathroom, busy fixing her hair a bit. She wasn't needed, so why watch a guy poke himself out of spite?
Meanwhile Irbe stood there quite stunned. What a day this had been. After he had grabbed a candle, he placed it upon the table. Ok what exactly was this guy going to do anyway? Perform surgery on himself?
